Do you specialize in training caregivers of children of a certain age?
There is not a limit or specialty of the ages of those who we work with. Our clients range in age from 3-70 years old and all of those involved training caregivers of the needs that presented at that time.
How are the training courses delivered?
All consultations, whether small group or individual are conducted via Zoom, which is a HIPAA-compliant video conferencing software. Zoom is free for parents, as the Behavior Analyst will send you a meeting link via email. The video library, which is coming soon, will utilize a different interface, allowing caregivers to watch the content at their own pace.
How are the wavier-funded services different from your caregiver consultation services?
The waiver-funded services are direct, face-to-face services to those located in or near Lake County, IL. These services are for those individuals who qualify for the State of Illinois DHS waiver program. These services also provide specific and individualized intervention for the client. In contrast, the caregiver consultation services are paid directly by the consumer and take place via telehealth. These services are there to provide caregivers with general understanding of ABA and parenting strategies while their child or loved one is on a waitlist to receive therapeutic, individualized services.
What are the basic principles of behavior analysis?
Behavior analysis focuses on the environment and our own behavior to aide in the behavior change of others. Within these courses you'll learn about reinforcement, consequences, three term contingencies, proactive strategies and more.
How much can I expect to pay?
Guiding Pathways offers three different service models to fit your needs and budget. Prior to any payment for individual or small group services, you'll receive a Good Faith Estimate based upon what the initial intake assessment provided. Pricing can be found on the "Pricing" section of our website.

If receiving the waiver-funded service, the rate for a Level 1 56u provider is located on the DHS website. Because this rate can change periodically, it is not posted on this website. Contact us directly or go to the DHS website for more information.
Do you offer any payment plans?
Yes. Please contact us for flexibility in payment plans/installments.
Does caregiver consultation replace 1:1 services?
No. Guiding Pathways believes that 1:1 services can be invaluable for your child and family. We want to help families get a jump start on their child's progress while they wait for an opening within another agency. Studies show that parent participation results in higher family quality of life, decreased stress and decreased time in more intensive services (Fisher et. al 2020; Lord & Bishop 2010: Karst & Van Hecke 2012).
